50 mile race from Lake Pleasant to Cave Creek on the Maricopa Regional Trail Saturday, January 23
Featuring an approximately 50-mile course and a Fun Ride, proceeds from the Prickly Pedal Mountain Bike Race support the Maricopa Trail and Park Foundation (MT+PF), a nonprofit organization which strives to provide sustainable financial support to the newly constructed Maricopa Regional Trail System. The estimated 300 Prickly Pedal inaugural-year riders will come from around the Valley, throughout Arizona and from across the country to share in the experience of racing the trails in support of the trails. Each year, the Prickly Pedal race will expand, adding more pristine miles of Maricopa Trail for riders to enjoy. MT+PF envisions the race evolving into a world class, multi-day, endurance stage mountain bike race, drawing thousands of fans to the desert southwest.
